PHP function crypt()

One-way string encryption (hashing)

Parameters

Parameter	Data type	Default value	Note
`$str`	`string`	not	The string to be encrypted.
`$salt`	`string`	null	An optional salt string to base the encryption on. If not provided, one will be randomly generated by PHP each time you call this function. PHP 5.6 or later raise E_NOTICE error if this parameter is omitted

Return values

string

the encrypted string.
